OBJECTIVES
- Take participants aged between 14 and 25, on trips to see jazz musicians perform and attend master classes from prominent UK artists including attending events and seminars as part of the London Jazz Festival 2008.
- Deliver 10 music development sessions enabling young musicians and vocalists to compose and rehearse their 3-5 minute composition based on a fusion of classic jazz sounds and current popular music.
- Perform compositions as part of a 3 venue UK tour with professional jazz musicians.
- Produce 20 performance DVDs.
- Create and make available a multimedia CD-ROM as a learning tool through an online exhibition and archive.
- Disseminate a report of the project findings, research and participant involvement.
- Include the report and CD-ROM as part of a national online museum archive of Popular music.
- Create a website to publicise the project’s activities.
- Undertake project evaluation during and post completion.
